I. Q-SlimTM - What It Is!
Q-SlimTM is a Super Fat SpongeTM fiber designed to bind large amounts of excess dietary fat in the digestive system itself. This dietary fat is bound before it can be absorbed into the blood stream of the body and used as fat calories. Bound excess dietary fat calories are eliminated in digestive waste…still bound to the Q-SlimTM fiber. Q-SlimTM fiber is not digested by the human digestive system, or is only minimally digested. Q-SlimTM is licensed from ZPRO Pharmaceutical, Inc. and has been tested in both animals and humans in a joint project between ZPRO and Carilion Biomedical Institute in Roanoke, Virginia. The animal study with Q-SlimTM conducted at Virginia Tech is discussed generally in a June 2005 Roanoke Times Article by Jeff Sturgeon. The ZPRO human study results for a 90 person study comparing Q-SlimTM to ordinary fiber and one of the most popular weight loss supplements will be announced in the first part of 2006.
Q-SlimTM is formulated to evenly disperse in water at body temperatures and is designed to bind fat throughout the entire digestive system. This formulation helps to avoid or minimize clumping within the small and large intestine and maximize its fat binding (“fat sponge”) ability. The Q-SlimTM formulation likes both water and oil (fat) since it is formulated with up to 20% of one or more nutritional organic acids. This unique (patent pending) formulation balance of liking both water and oil gives Q-SlimTM its unique super fat sponge abilities.
Q-SlimTM is a proprietary blend of water soluble and insoluble Polyglucosamines, and may contain small amounts of beta carotene for color. It may contain up to 20% of nutritional organic acid foodstuffs (5 to 20 carbons) to promote water solubility of the Polyglucosamines fibers. Polyglucosamines are made by nature and perfected by ZORBATM to provide maximum fiber comfort and oil absorption.
Unlike other fat sponges, such as Chitosan, Q-SlimTM is formulated to bind fat all throughout the digestive system. Since Chitosan and other fat sponges are only soluble in the stomach (acid environment), they are severely limited to binding fat in the stomach. They promptly clump together with oil and vitamins upon reaching the non-acid (neutral to basic) environment of the small intestine.
Since most fat digestion occurs in the small intestine, this is a major flaw with Chitosan and other similar products that greatly limits their fat sponge and calorie reduction abilities.
Raw starting materials for the Q-SlimTM formulation are chitin and one or more natural nutritional organic acids (foodstuffs). The chitin starting material source used is a natural marine (sea) biopolymer (or plant source) that is commercially harvested from shrimp (or from a plant source) with the very best quality control and production that we can find. Raw chitin is thoroughly cleaned, decolorized and purified to remove metals, protein and other impurities (and assure freedom from germs) before being processed into an acceptable food grade polyglucosamine that we can use to formulate Q-SlimTM fiber.
Although we make every effort to have proteins and other substances removed that might cause you to have a seafood allergic reaction, if you are allergic to seafood, please consult your doctor before taking the Q-SlimTM formulation. As with any dietary supplement, consult a doctor if you are pregnant or nursing, or if you are taking prescription drugs.

II. ZORBATM Super Fat SpongeTM - How It Works!
We eat too much, expecially fat. The average adult person in the USA consumes from 2400 to 3600 total calories. This is well above recommended calorie needs for modern adults (male: 2200-2600 calories) and (female: 1600 to 2000 calories).
How much you eat is important, but all foods are not the same. What you eat is also important. Fat is the most concentrated form of calories that you can find. A gram of fat has twice as many calories (9 calories) as either a gram of protein or carbohydrate (4 calories each). We want to help you effectively reduce fat calories. Q-SlimTM is what we offer.
Both in vitro (test tube) and animal studies have shown Q-SlimTM to bind more than 5 to 10 times the amount of dietary fat than ordinary Chitosan can bind. Q-SlimTM fiber and bound oil were found to be evenly distributed in the digestive waste to minimize side effects, and no substantive side effects were observed.
Data and reports of Q-SlimTM human use likewise are consistent with a high degree of fat binding (super fat sponge activity) for Q-SlimTM in the human digestive system. Only a slight softening of dietary waste has been observed. However, substantial fat elimination with corresponding observations of weight loss rates corresponding high fat calorie reductions were consistently observed.
Q-SlimTM shines as a super fat sponge. Q-SlimTM is highly effective at soaking up large amounts of fat like a vacuum sponge throughout the digestive system (other fat sponges such as Chitosan only work mainly in the stomach, not in the small intestine where most fat digestion occurs).
Q-SlimTM evenly and quickly dissipates in water and oil...unlike other fat sponges that don’t like the water of the digestive system to minimize side effects. The Q-SlimTM fiber removes large amounts of fat that is absorbed on the fiber (Q-SlimTM with fat absorbed looks like syrupy cream of wheat that evenly dissipates and gets thinner when water is added).
Fat that is absorbed on the fat sponge is removed in digestive waste before the body can use the dietary fat as calories. The idea is to rapidly bind fat to the sponge before the body can digest and store the excess dietary fat as fat weight gain. Q-SlimTM is designed to dissipate readily in water at body temperature throughout the entire digestive system and to absorb large amounts of dietary fat. The amount of Q-SlimTM that you need to take for maximum effectiveness as a fat sponge will depend upon the amount of fat you consume at a particular meal or snack.
While ZORBA does not guarantee that our Q-SlimTM Super Fat SpongeTM will result in any weight loss in your particular case, we would hope and expect that it could…if you are sure to also consistently follow a sensible diet within your target calorie needs range and to exercise regularly.
Only time will tell in your given case how effective Q-SlimTM will be for you, but this combination of diet, exercise and Q-SlimTM may work for you as it has for others.
